At Stage Sparks Academy we believe in nurturing creativity, confidence, and passion in every performer. Founded by two experienced educators and artists, our academy is built on decades of experience in the entertainment industry and a shared commitment to inspiring the next generation of performers.

Mitchell Smith

Mitch brings over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and more than 15 years of teaching expertise in NSW schools, where he has developed a deep understanding of growing young minds and how to bring out the best in each child. Holding a Bachelor of Arts (Theatre Studies) and a Bachelor of Education, he has taught Drama and Entertainment courses, directed numerous school musicals, and managed his own production company. Mitch recognises that every student is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and learning style. At Stage Sparks, these qualities are nurtured and harnessed to help every performer shine, as he creates inclusive, engaging learning experiences that build confidence and skill. As a long-standing member of the Northern Beaches community, he remains a trusted mentor dedicated to guiding young performers toward their potential.

Cara Brown

Cara brings over 15 years of teaching experience in NSW schools, where she has developed a deep understanding of growing young minds and how to bring out the best in each child. Holding a Bachelor of Arts (Dance) and a Bachelor of Education, she has choreographed numerous school musicals, collaborated on plays, and delivered dance curriculum to students from prominent Northern Beaches and North Shore schools - recognising that every student is unique, with their own strengths, interests, and learning style.

At Stage Sparks, these qualities are nurtured and harnessed to help every performer shine, as Cara creates inclusive, engaging learning environments where young dancers feel supported, inspired, and empowered to discover their passion. With her warm, encouraging approach and strong sense of community, she’s earned recognition in Dance Informa Magazine:
